About me - Marilla Sicilia

I have been working as a photojournalist since1997, starting with a collaboration of two years with the photographic agency Master Photo, where I specialised in areas like crime, politics and current affairs, and published for Italian and foreign magazines and newspapers.
Between 1995 and 2004 I worked as a documentary and landscape photographer in Latin America, especially in Mexico, Guatemala and Argentina while in Peru I realised a photo-reportage on child labor and the gold diggers. During the war in the Balkans, I was in Albania where I documented the life in the kosovari refugee camps.

I worked with Olycom agency from 1999 to July 2016 and I'm collaborating with some important international and italian agencies now .

In 2011 I realised a reportage on working conditions of Vietnamese women.
In recent years I have specialised in the entertainment sector, concerts, art exhibitions, film presentations, film festivals and entertainment.

I publish regularly on most of national and international magazines and newspapers.

In the last few years I am focusing my visual research on the exchange between photographer and the subject and through portrait photography I had the chance to catch in my pictures emotions that otherwise would be lost.
